The damask pattern of this dress. The rosebud pattern on the stockings. The dandelions on the scarf (plus, it is so soft!). I did feel my boots let me down today. But whenever I think my boots collection is even approaching completion, I come across an outfit like today's. So, enough! These will have to do. For now.
Dress: Kinki Gerlinki. Top: Dotti. Stockings: Leona Edmiston. Boots: Sandler. Scarf: Atmosphere (gift). Earrings: from Mombasa. Jacket (not pictured - only worn to school but it was too warm after that): Dotti.
I was a bit sad to see a tiny hole in the toe of the stockings this morning. And even sadder to see this evening that the hole had grown somewhat over the course of the day.

Outfit #142 - They Lied!
I checked the forecast for today. I was promised sunshine, maybe some clouds. They lied. It bucketed.
Dress: Kinki Gerlinki. Cardigan: Levi's (from Jeannie). Top (not visible in photo, but present): Ambra bamboo. Stockings: Razza Matazz. Scarf: Atmosphere (gift). Shoes: Target.
Needless to say, the cardigan stayed on most of the day, and the scarf was also on for a substantial part.
Last time I wore this cardigan I promised a better close up shot. So here I'm delivering.

Outfit #138 - Almost a Blockage
These are my colour block stockings. And everything else was a block of colour too. I actually wore 4 tops today, expecting to need to shed some layers during the day. I didn't though, so I'll just list the top 2. Non-block items were the scarf and earrings.
Skirt: Country Road (op shop). Blue top: Kookai (op shop). 'Plum' sweater: Tokito. Stockings: Target. Boots: Sandler. Earrings: Kinki Gerlinki (from Jeannie). Scarf: Atmosphere (gift).
You get a back shot today for the little bit of blue visible in the stockings. My junior quartet girls commented on this fact (So Cool! Oh, and your stockings are wonky). That's all you get for photos though - I came home early from work, sick.

Outfit #127 - Happy Birthday Shakespeare
Today is, apparently, Shakespeare's birthday. At least, I am told he was both born and died on St George's Day - which is today. You learn all sorts of things with trivia. As it turns out, I know not much about St George or Shakespeare. I think I need to rectify the situation.
Dress: Kinki Gerlinki. Top: Ambra. Leggings: ? Shoes: Target. Earrings: The Silver Shop (I think). Scarf: Atmosphere (gift). Jacket: Hot Options (from Jeannie).
I was trying hard to find a Shakespearean outfit. This was the best I could do. My logic is that the dress is a bit like an old tapestry sort of thing. My alternative involved a very short skirt. Due to workplace dress requirements, the jacket was only actually included as a 'just-in-case' for the evening's trivia at the cathedral. My team didn't come last - in fact we were winning for the first half of the evening. And I'm pretty sure we had more fun than anyone else!
The scarf was only worn to school. And then for photos. But I do love it.

Outfit #122 - Secondary Theme
If you've been paying attention, you may have noticed that last week was all florals. I had a plan for a theme for this week (which is still on, kinda), but a secondary theme appears to be happening: last minute changes. Yesterday I didn't wear the shirt as planned. Today, I just couldn't face the thought of long pants and high heels. Mostly due to the high heels. So I wore my softest flat shoes, and a skirt.
Top: Regatta. Skirt: Temt (op shop). Ribbon: from a Katies skirt. Shoes: Target. Necklace: Kinki Gerlinki. Earrings (not visible, but they're on!): good question.
I seem to be lacking my personal space bubble right now. I get the end-of-term hugs, that's okay. But people touching my hair because it's got a new cut - really? And a grade 3 just started fiddling with the bow around my waist because it's pretty - a bit unnerving. On the upside, this was the first day I felt my hair behaved as I wanted. Win.

Outfit #121 - The Bob
I had a haircut. Most people have been complimentary. The day after, though, my nearly-5-yr-old nephew told me I needed a haircut. Admittedly, it was slightly the worse for wear that day: after the haircut, I'd had a PT session, then a few other things, quartet rehearsal, mariachi gig, very little sleep... Today was the first day (that is, since about 10:30am Friday), that I felt the hair was doing what I hoped it might.
Dress: Kinki Gerlinki. Shoes: Target. Earrings: Kinki Gerlinki (from Jeannie). Bracelet: made by me. Sunglasses (below): Kinki Gerlinki.
It was a Kinki Gerlinki kinda day. I was originally going to wear a shirt over the dress, but not having tried it on first, I discovered it would look weird. Which was a blessing, really, as it's been rather warm and humid all day.
I really had to work it to get the earrings to be visible.
Not normally one to show the sunglasses, but as they're Kinki Gerlinki too, I thought I might as well! I'm not sure I'll ever have a totally Kinki Gerlinki outfit (shoes - expensive) but I'm working on it.

Outfit #110 - Last Green Dress in the Shop
On my last trip to Melbourne, we just happened to have lunch one day across a laneway from a favourite store. We just happened to visit said store after lunch. This was the last dress of its kind.
Dress: Kinki Gerlinki. Shoes: Target. Earrings: from Mombasa. Necklaces: from Jeannie and an op shop.
It took me ages to actually wear this dress. I have a sneaky feeling it will make an appearance in many outfits. I love it. Although it's not all that flattering, it is so lovely to wear, and I have several layering ideas already. I'll do a close-up of the earrings in a future post.
